Surabhi Ghosh's exhibit consists of seven works in textiles. She
interviewed ten people, asking them what sort of words, images, and
emotions they associated with given colors. These pieces are based on
their reactions. Her techniques include direct painting with pigments
as well as silkscreening. Frequently, she pairs colors with their
complements, such as putting blue ocean waves on an orange background.
According to her, "the pieces are ultimately about the audience's
involvement with them."
Surabhi plans to obtain an MFA in fibers and ultimately to become a
professor in fibers herself.
